The advanced Moodle training session is taught online during a three week period. Topics addressed include iPodcast, Geogebra, JMol, NetLogo, Stamp Collection, Audio Recorder, Questionnaire, Free Mind, Books Module, Dim Dim Web Conference Tool, Wikipedia filter, Wiki's, Lessons, Workshops, SCORM Packages, and SoftChalk Lesson Builder. There are three synchronous activities required for this course, but the rest of the material is asynchronous. This course will take approximately 15 hours to complete. SoftChalk Demo for Friday, May 2nd. This is the networking and collaboration for the regional AYP coordinators in Southwest/ West Central Minnesota. The class will assist students in reaching the recommended Minnesota Information and Technology Literacy Standards through a through understanding of information and its use. The students will approach various forms of information and learn to research, evaluate, and understand the information in order to apply it to social, educational, and personal goals.
Web Authoring is a course designed to familiarize students with evaluating and creating web pages on the Internet. Students will learn to create web pages using XHTML coding. This course will cover the fundamentals of programming using the Visual Basic programming language. This is an introductory course with hands-on exposure to structured programming. Students will study the relationship between hardware and software and learn how to develop programs for problem solving. Guided computer activities and exercises will provide the student an opportunity to develop a foundation in programming using the Visual Basic programming language. Projects will progress from the simple to the complex and will be based on writing programs for Windows applications. Students must be able to download a free version of Microsoft VB Express Soph biology is intended to supplement and complement Luverne classroom biology. Students are encouraged to use this moodle course to enrich their biology experience.
Human Anatomy is a college prep course that introduces skills and knowledge essential for all health and medical fields.It focuses on the anatomy and physiology of the human body.Topics covered during the year include:body systems, muscle and bonestructure, disease and injury, and medical careers. Dissection will be used as a learning tool, including sheep organs and cats as models for human systems. Assessment is based upon textbook assignments, lab reports, and test scores. This is a challenging class and highly recommended if you are interested in any health careers. In this course we will study the structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) of the human organism. First semester we discuss the Kinesiology aspect of the human body. You will understand how the body moves and what makes the body move. During the second semester we discuss the Physiology aspect of the human body. Some of the topics included are: Digestive system, Respiratory system and Reproductive System.
This course is a second year course in chemistry. You will further advance the topics learned in a first year chemistry course. You will also advance your studies in the areas of thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, solution chemistry, electrochemistry, and nuclear chemistry. This course is expected to cover all material learned in a first year college chemistry course. Travel around the world as we discuss and learn about the 5 continents and the political boundaries within them. Topics covered include: 5 Themes of Geography, Map Skills, and learning about The Land, The People, and The Economy of each country on Earth.
This class will be combined with my senior government class at Comfrey High School. We will begin using the moodle as part of our class starting the first of the year. We will take tests, quizzes, upload information, have discussions, etc. using moodle as a part of class.
This is an ITV hybrid introduction to American Sign Language.
This course is a continuation of French II with an intermediate/advanced level study of grammar and culture. Emphasis is placed on developing speaking, listening, writing and reading skills in the language.

The course has been constructed according to guidelines found in the AP Language and Composition Course Description. The purpose of AP Literature and Composition is to involve students into the study and practice of writing and the study of various genres of literature while affording student the chance to work at college level English. Through speaking, listening, reading, discussing and writing, students will critically analyze various literary selections to appreciate their complexity and relevancy to contemporary ideas and shared experience by considering elements such as style, theme, motif, imagery, figurative language, symbolism, and tone.
